Since its arrival in the marketplace, biotechnology’s
application as an enabling process has grown enormously, and the
number and variety of its products are vast.
Fermentation Suite
Of course in the
wider sense, biotechnology includes such processes as fermentation
and cheese making which have been with us for millennia.
However the conventional application of the term today originated
some quarter of a century ago, or so, when numerous academic and
commercial research institutions found outlets for the products
they had either discovered, or for which they had discovered better
production routes. These were usually therapeutic products.
It is in this latter area that GRC Mott MacDonald has been
specifying, designing and installing state-of-the-art biotechnology
research and production facilities since the late 1980's.
