Originating in the nuclear industry, isolators are used when
maximum protection is required.
This may be to protect the operator from the product eg
radioactive or cytotoxic material, or to protect the product from
the operator eg aseptic filling, or both.
Isolator uses and features include:
- Internal/External door interlocks to maintain containment
- Changeable glove ports
- Rapid Transfer Ports
- Hydrogen peroxide/Formaldehyde fumigation
- Handling of Cytotoxic and Genetic materials
- Aseptic filling lines
- Sterility testing

GRC has experience in providing design and full
validation services for stainless steel, flexible film and half
suit isolators.
Stainless steel fixed isolator = this type of isolator is
rigid and fixed in place
Flexible film mobile isolator = a PVC based isolator which
is mobile and can easily be connected to other isolators via an
interlock
Half suit isolator = the half suit allows an easier range of
movement for manipulations
